01 Disassembly and Assembly of Bearings on Vehicle Wheel Hubs

When the vehicle is in motion, the bearings rotate. Faults are inevitable. If the wheel hub bearing is slightly loose, it can be knocked off and replaced more easily. If the ball bearing cage breaks and causes the bearing to "fall apart", it becomes much more difficult to remove the bearing when the inner and outer circles are disengaged. It is necessary to weld a slightly smaller bearing to the outer circle of the wheel hub using electric welding. After cooling, use a hammer and a steel punch to knock it off. The steel outer circle of the aluminum wheel hub can be easily knocked off after being electrically welded, heated, and cooled. Do not operate rudely, as most wheel hubs are made of aluminum. Without proper treatment and hard knocking, it is very likely to cause the rim to crack and be damaged. The reinstallation of the bearings here should also be careful. Carefully remove the debris on the bearing seat, polish the wheel hub bearing seat with fine sandpaper, apply an appropriate amount of lubricating grease on the outer side of the new bearing, place a wooden block on top to slowly knock the bearing in, and make sure it is in place. The bearings here should be fully enclosed bearings, and more lubricating grease should be applied before assembly. The steel sleeve between the two bearings on the wheel hub must not be omitted. If it is omitted, the bearings are prone to damage.

02 Needle roller bearings on the engine

What troubles the maintenance workers the most is the outer circle of the needle roller bearings on the engine housing. After severe wear, the needle roller bearings only have a very thin steel sleeve remaining inside the housing, and no special tools can easily remove them. At this time, an electric welder must be used to weld a thicker steel plate onto the inner wall of the broken needle roller bearing sleeve. After it cools down, the thick steel plate can be gently tapped to remove the outer circle of the bearing. After thoroughly cleaning the bearing housing, the new needle roller bearings must be gently tapped into the bearing housing with a copper rod. Do not apply excessive force to prevent damaging the new needle roller bearings. The reinstalled needle roller bearings must be moved by hand, and all the sliding rollers must move smoothly and freely before they can be installed.

03 Bearings on the Crankshaft

Due to inherent design flaws and poor lubrication, the bearings at both ends of the crankshaft are prone to failure in two-stroke engines. When replacing the crankshaft bearings by opening the box, if the bearings fall onto the box, it is easier to replace them. However, if they fall onto the crankshaft, the replacement process becomes more troublesome. At this time, you can evenly heat the worn bearings with gas welding for 3 minutes, then use a flat steel bar to pry off the bearings easily. The new bearings should be coated with an appropriate amount of lubricating oil and installed on the corresponding part of the box. Then, installing the crankshaft and closing the box becomes much easier.
