Rear shock absorber action

The rear shock absorber is the main component of the rear suspension system and has the buffer function. It is used to support the weight of the frame, alleviate the vibration and impact of the uneven road on the motorcycle, and rapidly attenuate the vibration, improve the riding comfort, reduce the dynamic stress of each part of the body, and extend the service life of the vehicle. At present, the spring hydraulic shock absorber is widely used on the motorcycle, and the rear shock absorber is composed of a coil spring and a damper

Helical spring

The spring absorbs the impact force from the road to reduce the impact force transmitted to the body. The coil spring used in the motorcycle has special requirements on the winding diameter, wire diameter, number of winding laps, winding method and material of the spring. The work of the spring is to support the weight of the motorcycle and keep the tire in contact with the ground when the road surface changes. Keep the bike in the same position relative to the road, when the bike through the bump, the spring will contract to absorb the pressure, when the spring spring will stretch and release energy, the perfect situation is through the bump, the spring can compress and rebound at a precise speed, so that the wheel will not lift off the ground, so that the rider can hardly feel his bump

Type of coil spring

1, equidistance spring: line distance interval is A fixed value A equidistance spring advantages: good linear response, best control, easy to adjust, cost-effective. Equidistant spring disadvantages: It is difficult for both intense and recreational drivers. Equidistant springs are commonly used in high-performance shock absorption

2, double line distance spring: double line distance spring is now common density spring, A spring in a total of two kinds of line distance respectively A and B double line distance spring advantages: relative equidistance spring can provide better comfort, relative progressive spring better adjustment. Double-spaced spring disadvantages: there is a turning point resulting in an obvious turning reaction when compressed to the red arrow position. Double-pitch springs are commonly used on general road, non-high-performance vehicles.

3, progressive line distance spring: progressive line distance spring is a rare shock absorption spring, line distance are not the same progressive line distance spring advantages: can take into account the more sports and leisure riding mode, no double line distance spring K value turning point. Disadvantages of progressive linear distance spring: difficult to set, thus unfavorable to intense operation and use. The production cost of the progressive pitch spring is higher, and even in the modified product, it is rare to design the progressive pitch spring

damper

In addition to the helical spring, the force generated by the air sealed in the damper air chamber is also used as a spring, called the air spring, as the travel of the shock absorber becomes larger (large impact), the amount of air compression increases, and the pressure increases. If the shock is affected by vibration, inertia will make the helical spring continue to vibrate. Once this happens, it takes a longer time for the up and down movement of the vehicle to stop. The damper will use friction or hydraulic oil flow resistance to suppress the vibration of the spring, so as to ensure the stability of the vehicle. Some models can adjust the air pressure of the air chamber at any time according to the change of load, so that the compression force of the air (the stiffness of the air spring) can be adjusted
