Oil filter function
The function of the oil filter is to filter harmful impurities in the oil to supply the engine system with clean oil, play the role of lubrication, cooling and cleaning, so as to extend the life of these parts.
Oil filter structure
Oil filter structure: contains filter paper, sealing ring, cover plate and oil inlet and outlet, in addition to the most critical filter paper, there are two key components that are easily ignored: bypass valve and check valve.
Working principle of bypass valve
The working principle of the bypass valve: Normally, the bypass valve is closed. However, when the oil filter inlet pressure is too high, the oil will open the spring of the bypass valve, and a part of the oil will enter the engine directly from the bypass valve through the filter paper to ensure the normal supply of oil inside the engine and prevent dry engine friction. In addition, there are two abnormal situations:
1. When the oil filter element of the car is seriously blocked, the bypass valve will be opened, and a part of the oil will directly enter the engine.
2. When the oil is very viscous (such as at a cold start), although the oil flowing at this time is unfiltered, the damage caused by the lack of oil lubrication is much less than that.
How the check valve works
How the check valve works: When the vehicle stops running, the intake check valve is closed to ensure that the oil in the car oil filter and subsequent lubrication system is not drained, thus ensuring that the engine can quickly build up the required oil pressure when it starts again, avoiding dry friction.
