The motorcycle clutch is more durable for maintenance
Release date:2024.12.04

When driving on urban roads or complex sections, the clutch has become one of the most frequently used parts, and the use of the clutch directly reflects the level of driving, and also plays a role in protecting the vehicle. Too frequent use of the clutch, easy to cause failure.

To repair the motorcycle clutch failure, it is necessary to understand the clutch structure and working principle. Everyone knows that the motorcycle is to change the speed ratio by shifting the transmission, and the clutch must be used when changing the gear. How to use the clutch correctly and extend the life of the clutch is what every driver who drives a manual transmission model should master.

As the name suggests, clutch is "separated" and "combined" to achieve the start and increase, deceleration and other coordinated actions. The clutch is composed of friction plate, spring plate, pressure plate and power output shaft, which is located between the engine and the gearbox, and is used to transfer the torque stored on the engine flywheel to the gearbox to ensure that the vehicle transmits the right amount of driving force and torque to the driving wheel under different driving conditions, which belongs to the category of powertrain.

The most common clutch failure has two kinds: one is inseparable, the other is slipping. They are all related to clutch clearance adjustment.

Taking Honda 125 as an example, many clutches are not used, why?

In the various accessories of the clutch, the strength of the pressure disc spring, the friction coefficient of the friction plate, and the friction coefficient of the clutch disc, whether to use high-quality lubricating oil, etc., all seriously affect the normal work of the engine clutch, and the personal operation and maintenance habits determine the service life of the clutch.

The greater the stiffness of the spring, the higher the friction coefficient of the friction plate, the larger the diameter of the clutch, and the better the clutch performance. In order to improve the durability of the clutch, my experience is to punch a few small holes in the clutch center sleeve when installing the clutch, as shown below.

In this way, it is conducive to oil flow lubrication, and the cooling effect on the clutch plate and the steel plate, so as to improve the service life of the clutch. This is the method I have developed, and you can discuss whether it works.
