After several warm-up, Triumph today officially released the new Daytona 660, in the middleweight sports car market gradually hot, Triumph's mass production Daytona finally returned, the new car listed price of 8595 pounds (about RMB78,000).
The new Daytona 660 continues the previous classic design, very much like the big brother Daytona 765; The new headlights are more durable than previous road tests, the rear half of the body is a more friendly design, and the secondary seat is not too cocked.
The reason the Daytona 660 is a little more expensive than the street car is not the addition of the cowl, its core engine has also been strengthened, although it is the same platform of the three-cylinder 660 engine, cylinder diameter, stroke and displacement are unchanged, but Triumph has optimized the internal design, and the sports car is more powerful.
The maximum power is 95ps@11250rpm and the maximum torque is increased to 69N·m@8250rpm, which is 17% more power and 9% more torque than the street model. In addition, the Daytona 660 engine produced more than 80% of peak torque from 3,125 rpm and maintained it up to 11,750 rpm.
The power boost comes from new cylinder heads, camshafts, crankshafts and a new 3-in-1 exhaust system, as well as the replacement of the Trident 660's single throttle body with a new triple throttle body. The new car has three riding modes: sport, road and rainy day.
The new frame is based on the street car, but Triumphal has made targeted reinforcement and adjustments to adapt to the sports characteristics of the sports car. The Daytona 660's ride triangle is a bit sportier than the street car, but it's not as aggressive as the Daytona 765, and the overall bias is still toward comfort. It is reported that the ergonomics of the new car is inspired by the all-round sports motorcycles of the 1990s, such as the Honda CBR600F.
The Daytona 660 has the same suspension system as a street car, with a non-adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP inverted front fork and a pre-load adjustable Showa mid-mounted shock absorber at the rear.
After the power increase, the brake has also been upgraded, the front is radial four-piston caliper +310mm floating disc, the rear single-piston caliper +220mm single disc; The caliper is not the previous Nissin kit, but printed with the Triumph LOGO.
The Daytona 660 meters are somewhat similar to the street models, with an LCD dial for speed, RPM, gear and fuel level, and a smaller TFT dial for route planning navigation via the My Triumph connection system, which also adds telephone and music controls.
Auxiliary systems include sliding clutch, ABS, traction control (can be turned off) as standard, and optional color-matching seat covers, billet processing parts, heating grips, underseat USB sockets, tire pressure monitoring, and Triumph Quick shift assist.
The fuel tank capacity of the new car is 14L(officially disclosed fuel consumption is 4.9L/100km), the repair mass is 201kg, the tire specifications are 120/70 ZR 17, 180/55 ZR 17, and the seat height is 810mm.
