After the polarity of the battery is reversed, the positive terminal of the battery is connected with the negative connection line of the charger, which is actually connected with the positive terminal of the rectifier diode. The negative terminal of the battery is connected with the positive connection line of the charger, which is actually connected with the negative terminal of the rectifier diode. The positive potential of the rectifier diode is extremely high, and the negative potential is extremely low, and the battery will discharge through the rectifier diode to the transformer, and the internal resistance of the electronic transformer is small, so a large discharge current will be formed, and the rectifier diode and transformer will be burned out, so that the charger can not continue to be used.
In order to prevent the charger from burning out, in addition to correctly connecting the battery when using the charger, preventive measures should also be added, such as adding an overcurrent fuse in the output line of the charger, and the fuse value of the fuse should be greater than the maximum output working current of the charger. Once the polarity of the battery is reversed, the safety tube will be immediately burned by the discharge current of the battery, terminating the discharge current of the battery, thus protecting the charger.
A rectifier diode with a special mark can also be specially used to connect to the battery, and the negative terminal of the rectifier diode is connected to the positive terminal of the battery. When the battery is correctly connected, it does not affect the normal charging of the battery. Once the polarity of the battery is reversed, due to the negative high potential of the rectifier diode and the positive low potential, the rectifier diode cannot be switched on, which prevents the battery from burning out due to a large amount of discharge, thus protecting the charger.
