The spring saw a spate of new models from various brands, with Triumph introducing the 2021 Scrambler 1200 lineup, and new Euro 5 compliance lines including the XC, XE and a limited edition of Steve McQueen
All three 2021 Scrambler 1200 are powered by a 1200cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 88.7 horsepower at 7,250 RPM and maximum torque in excess of 110Nm at 4,500 RPM. In addition, the high exhaust near the right thigh improves the heat insulation
The Scrambler 1200's front and rear suspension provides a 250mm travel range. Both the Ohlins rear shock absorber and the Showa front shock absorber are fully adjustable. For braking, the front pair of 320mm floating-disc and Brembo M50 calipers are used. The rear wheel is a single disc with Brembo dual piston calipers
All variants of the 2021 Scrambler 1200 feature a long-stroke aluminum rocker arm, full-color TFT dashboard, backlit switch, keyless ignition, fixed-speed cruise, and a USB charging port. Front and rear LED lighting and daytime running lights are also standard. The 16-liter tank and brushed aluminum lid add to the Scrambler's unique aesthetic
What's the difference between the 2021 XC, XE and the Steve McQueen version? Both the XE and Steve McQueen have off-road Pro Riding Mode, and a rider custom mode that turns off ABS and traction control, while the XE and McQueen have optimized ABS and traction control for corners
The Steve McQueen edition, limited to 1,000 units, comes with a special number on the handlebars and a laser engraved Steve McQueen signature above it
Meanwhile, the XC and XE 2021 color options include Sapphire Black, Blue and Black, or Matt Khaki Green and Matt Jet Black. The 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC is $14,000, the XE is $15,400, and the limitededition Steve McQueen is $16,400
